Article 19

In April, 1999 Manipal Institute of Communication, for the first time in India organised an All-India Communication festival. Students and media professionals from all over the country came to take part in what was called a revolution, not just a festival. It was a success and spurred on other colleges to have their own festivals. But for various reasons, the event was not organised ever since. Now, after a dormant seven years, Article 19 returns.

The greatest power yet is to bring great minds together, to communicate. With that in mind we are bringing in the students and media professionals from around the country for two days (January 21 & January 22, 2006) to the University town of Manipal. Eminent speakers from the media will attend the seminars. Colleges from all over the country will take part in the fest.

Article 19, 2006 is based on the theme 'expression'. The events are specific to this theme and the discipline of communication.
