Manipal - The international University town

Manipal is rightly called the University town of India. It has around 40,000 students from across 29 countries and is located on the Konkan coast of Karnataka. Manipal Academy of Higher Education is the largest deemed university in India comprising of medical, engineering, management and communication colleges among its 19 constituent institutions. Manipal is just 5 km from the temple town of Udupi and 50 km from the port city of Mangalore. It nestles between the hill ranges of Western Ghats and the blue waters of the Arabian sea. It is only a 50 km drive to the rain forests of the Western Ghats. There are a number of beaches near by Manipal. Manipal is also close, geographically, to Goa, Agumbe, Gokarna and several other important tourist destinations.
